About Adam.

Adam Wood has been interested in historic true crime since being told as a young boy that his great grandfather, born in London's east end, had seen the body of one of Jack the Ripper's victims.

As a result, his particular area of interest in the case is the day-to-day life of those living in the East End, and the history of the area.

Over the past forty years Adam has researched the Whitechapel murders in depth, with a particular emphasis on the social context and lives of those involved.

This is an approach he has taken in an examination of all true crime and policing history up to the Second World War, with a particular interest in the Victorian era

Now an author, speaker and tour guide Adam was Executive Editor of Ripperologist magazine, the leading publication dedicated to serious study of the Whitechapel murders, for more than twenty-five years until 2023, when he launched a new historic crime magazine, Crime Through Time.

Adam lectures at conferences and gives theatre talks, and is regularly consulted for documentaries and comment by television - most recently Unsolved Mysteries on Netlix - and on radio and podcast shows.

He is passionate about sharing history in an accessible way which makes it both interesting and enjoyable.
